BioWare is working on a completely revamped version of its video game, but the changes will take time.
Christmas tree, lights and snow. This is how one of Anthem's main enclaves looked until just a few hours ago. The nougat era is over, Santa Claus left his presents and the Magi returned to the Far East. However, in the BioWare title, everything seemed to indicate that Christmas was going to be perpetual, because two months after the twilight of the holidays, the decoration remained intact, an unequivocal sign of the turbulence that is being experienced within the developer Canadian. Now there are no lights, but flowers have been placed.
Anthem has just turned a year since its launch, but the current situation is far from ideal. The problems recognized are linked to the delay in post-launch content, which was redefined in an attempt to fix the situation. In the end, BioWare and Electronic Arts have chosen to give it a second life, so that the game is in a deep review process. No concrete details have been given, beyond which the project will modify many of its elements, although it is unknown when they plan to relaunch it.

Anthem Next
In a statement through the official BioWare blog, Casey Hudson, general manager of the company, recalled that "the team has worked hard to improve the stability, performance and quality of life of Anthem." Even so, it has not been enough, because they have heard the feedback of the players and have determined that the game "needed a more satisfactory loot experience, better long-term progression and a better endgame." Therefore, "we recognize that there is an important work to be done."
As a result, a "substantial reinvention" will be carried out, since it is not possible to renew it with a simple update or an expansion of content. The company, which according to Kotaku sources referred to the project as Anthem 2.0 or Anthem Next, will devote the next few months to redesign the game. They have already warned that the look has been placed in the long term, with the idea of changing gameplay, challenges and progression. Nothing has been mentioned about the argument at the moment.
Anthem went on sale in 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. BioWare is currently working on a new Dragon Age, which was officially announced during The Game Awards 2019.
