The sale, organised by Iconic Auctioneers, takes place on 25 July amid the British Racing Drivers’ Club Classic events at Silverstone, the historic home of the British Grand Prix.
Home‑grown classics lead the showpiece collection
The majority of the cars are iconic British models, including a 1994 Jaguar XJ220 loading £550,000, a 2007 Jaguar XKSS recreation priced at £375,000, and two meticulous recreations of the 1951 Jaguar C‑type (XKC001 and XKC003). A 1960 Mercedes‑Benz 190 SL, a 2013 Mercedes‑Benz C63 AMG Edition 507, and a 1989 Mercedes‑Benz 300SL the former war‑hero of heavyweight boxer Billy Walker also headline the plaza.
Other celebrated entries feature a 1974 Aston Martin V8 Series 3, a 1967 Jaguar E-type Series I, the 1960 Triumph Italia 2000, and a 1968 Triumph TR5 prototype. Additional jewels include a 2016 David Brown Automotive Speedback GT, a 1960 Austin‑Healey Sprite Supercharged, a 1973 Jaguar E‑type Series 3 V12, and a classic 1985 BMW Alpina B10 3.5. A total of 27 vehicles reflects hours of meticulous curation and preservation.
Iconic Auctioneers’ car specialist Lionel Abbott praised the selection, noting its “real depth, quality and personality.” He added that the spread inevitably shows “a notable passion for British motoring at its most characterful,” and that the timing at Silverstone, neighbouring the Hamilton straight, seemed “entirely fitting.”
