13 Autosport confirmed its return to the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for 2027, keeping the Corvette Z06 GT3.R and the same driver line‑up of Orey Fidani, Matt Bell, and endurance specialist Lars Kern.
2027 Season Preview and Results
The Canadian outfit will carry its 2027 campaign forward after a strong debut year under the 13 Autosport banner. The team closed the season at the Rolex 24 at Daytona with a fourth‑place finish in GTD, and later captured a podium at Indianapolis Motor Speedway by securing third in the same class.
These performances earned 13 Autosport the Bob Akin Bronze Cup Award and a fifth‑place finish overall in the GTD Championship standings. The title also granted an automatic invitation to the 24 Hours of Le Mans, giving the squad its third consecutive berth at the iconic endurance race.
“I’m incredibly proud of the results we achieved this year,” said Fidani. “Winning the Bob Akin Cup again and finishing fifth in the GTD standings are milestones we celebrate, but there’s more we aim to attain in 2027. We’re excited about what the future holds.”
Driver Insights and Team Dynamics
Bell echoed this enthusiasm, noting the cohesion “has become a family” within 13 Autosport. He expressed hope for further triumphs in both IMSA and Le Mans, while highlighting plans for the Bathurst 12 Hour as a major milestone for the team.
For endurance specialist Kern, the new season brings forward the opportunity to campaign in the updated Evo specification of the Corvette GT3 machinery. “Going back to Le Mans feels like a cherry on top,” he remarked. “I’m eager to tackle the Evo version of our Corvette Z06 GT3.R again and make 2027 a memorable season.”
Global Growth: Bathurst and Beyond
Alongside its core IMSA commitment, 13 Autosport is positioning a debut at the Bathurst 12 Hour in Australia and is evaluating additional European events to diversify its global calendar. “The prospect of racing at Bathurst is hugely exciting, and we’re also exploring other European opportunities,” Bell added.
Full details of the 2027 schedule, Bathurst entry, and potential European outings will be released in due course.
With Bathurst and new European hurdles on the horizon, the 2027 calendar promises both continuity and fresh challenges for the Canadian outfit.
