Brad Keselowski’s 10,000th lap behind the wheel was celebrated despite an older‑tire gamble that fell short at World Wide Technology Raceway.
Joining the Elite 10,000-Lap Club
With his 621st Cup Series start, the current‑season Champion pushed his total laps led over 10,000, the 24th driver in NASCAR history to reach that milestone. The last to do so before Keselowski was Joey Logano, who topped 10,000 laps at Richmond Arena the previous month.
Career Highlights to Date
Keselowski entered the Cup Series in 2008 and captured a memorable first victory in 2009 by leading the final lap of the Talladega spring event. In that moment he clipped Carl Edwards, sending the veteran into a flip as the rookie secured his inaugural Cup title.
Across his career, the driver has won 36 Cup races, and now sits behind 10,020 laps. In the most recent event at Gateway, he led 55 laps before fading to 12th. His peak for laps led occurred in 2014, when 1,540 laps pushed him to a season high, complemented by six race wins.
