Brendan Gaughan will drive a No. 20 Bill McAnally Racing Chevrolet Silverado at the June 19 Truck Series event on the new street circuit inside Naval Base Coronado.

The 50‑year‑old veteran, born in Los Angeles, is re‑entering NASCAR after a three‑year layoff. He will debut at the military‑base venue, the first NASCAR event ever hosted on an active San Diego installation, and the first Truck Series race he has put on the calendar since 2013.
Bill McAnally, a long‑time ally, has agreed to field the Silverado, while South Point Hotel & Casino—owned by Gaughan’s family—sponsor the effort. Gaughan said, “We’ve got a ton of history together, tons of great memories; this is something we’ll talk about for a long time.” He added that the Coronado event celebration would honor the military community.

Gaughan’s racing résumé includes 67 Cup Series starts with a best finish of fourth, two Cup victories, and 219 O’Reilly Series starts that yielded two wins at Road America (2014) and Kentucky (2014). He has accumulated 217 Truck Series starts, capturing eight wins, including a six‑victory campaign in 2003. The driver also earned consecutive Winston West titles (now ARCA West) in 2000 and 2001, grabbing eight races across the season. In 2011, he competed in a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup during the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona, adding a class win to his legacy.
