Crash Sequence at Michigan
On Lap 148, Chase Elliott’s nose lifted over a bump in Turn 3 while vying for second place. The slip sent Bell’s car into the SAFER barrier, and a second impact from Elliott’s back‑up round of the track delivered a hard hit to Bell’s left side.
Medical Assessment and Team Statement
Both drivers were treated at the infield care center. Bell remained in the facility for over half an hour; X‑rays later confirmed a fractured wrist. Joe Gibbs Racing released a statement saying Bell has been evaluated, released, and will compete in the No. 20 Toyota Camry XSE at Pocono.
