Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will need 100 GB of space on Xbox

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will need 100 GB of space on Xbox

The Microsoft store has revealed this data, no surprise considering that the PC version will exceed that figure.

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Infinity Ward had a problem with the weight of its title, which got even more fat when Warzone was integrated into the PC version, which could not be uninstalled at first. Much later they offered the option of choosing the content to install, first on the console and then on the compatible version. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War seems to follow a similar path to its predecessor, as the Microsoft Store has confirmed that players will need to reserve at least 100 GB of space on their hard drive.

The requirements on PC already hinted that the title was not going to be light exactly. According to Activision itself, the new installment will occupy 175 GB (or 250 GB at its highest quality) on that platform. Of course, they point out that it will be like this with all the game modes installed. If they continue to provide options to control what gets installed and what doesn’t, that number may be greatly reduced. In any case, for now you will have to tighten your belt so that all the content can be on the console.

How much space do the hard drives of the new Xbox have?

It should be noted that Xbox Series X has a 1 TB hard drive, but of all that space, about 802 GB can be used. The cheapest model, Xbox Series S, comes with a 500 GB hard drive, and although the space that will be free for games and other content has not been officially confirmed, some sources point to about 364 GB.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will go on sale next November 13 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PC (via Battle.net). The PS5 version will be available from the moment the console comes out, that is, on November 12 in the United States, Mexico, Japan, etc., and on November 12 in Spain and the rest of Europe.
