Christian Horner will be in the paddock at Silverstone this weekend, the first time he has been on an F1 track since leaving Red Bull Racing last July.

The former Red Bull principal will sit in the pit lane at the 2024 British Grand Prix, meeting the team’s crew and offering a rare glimpse into the world of Formula 1 managers who are no longer in active roles. Horner has maintained strong relationships with key figures: he met Chief Executive Stefano Domenicali at the MotoGP round in Jerez in April, and he visited FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem in Paris in early summer.
Career achievements highlighted in memoir
Horner’s book, entitled Drive, promises a candid look at more than twenty years of racing, covering two Golden Age periods at Red Bull Racing that secured eight driver championships with Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen, as well as six constructors’ titles. The narrative will probe the intense psychological pressure and split‑second decisions demanded by the sport’s most calculated dangers.
Future in F1 remains open
Speaking to the press at the European Motor Show in Dublin, Horner said he would return to Formula 1 only if the right project presented itself. “I would want to work with great people, in an environment that aims to win,” he explained. He added that he could retire permanently if there were no suitable opportunity to become a partner rather than a hired hand.
Book details and release date
Transworld Publishing will launch the memoir on 22 October, accompanied by an audiobook narrated by Horner Himself. The book’s blurb describes it as “vivid, candid and uncompromising,” positioning it as an inside look at both triumphs and private challenges faced inside the Morgan Leadership Group that helped shape the Red Bull Racing dynasty.
