During a two‑tire stop, front‑tire changer Blake Houston failed to clear the line after the jack lowered, allowing the No. 20 car to strike his position.
Bell checked via radio to confirm Houston’s condition; crew chief Adam Stevens reported the technician was “a little shook up, but [he’s] alright.”
Bell noted the incident stemmed from a delayed signal—he saw Houston still present on camera when the jack dropped, yet he did not feel a collision.
Steady finish and points rise
Despite the disruption, Bell kept pace and secured a fourth‑place finish, which not only satisfies the team’s expectations but also bumps him into fifth in the overall standings, one race short of the season finale.
“We had the mishap on pit road, and then the team became resilient and finished where we should have,” Bell said afterward.
