Connor Zilisch will take the wheel of the No. 48 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports in 2028, commencing a partnership that follows the retirement of Alex Bowman.
Road to the Big Leagues
The 20‑year‑old has amassed 13 NASCAR O’Reilly wins, including ten in 2025, and secured a debut victory at Watkins Glen in 2024. He has also notched five ARCA victories across nine starts and capped those achievements with class wins at the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the Sebring 12 Hours.
Current Season Snapshot
Zilisch pilots the No. 88 Trackhouse Racing Chevrolet this Cup season. With a lone top‑ten finish—a seventh place at Sonoma—he has recorded eight DNFs, placing him 34th among the 35 full‑time drivers in the standings.
New Chapter with Hendrick
Rick Hendrick stated, “Connor is a truly gifted young racer… Our confidence in him is absolute. We believe he’s the right driver to build on the legacy of the No. 48 Ally team for many years to come.” The deal designates Ally as the full‑season sponsor, and the partnership promises a complete suite of resources for the driver’s development.
Zilisch remarked, “Hendrick Motorsports has always represented the standard in our sport. Being entrusted to help continue that legacy means everything to me. The chance to drive a Chevrolet for Mr. Hendrick and compete alongside some of the best drivers is what you work hard for.”
While Zilisch’s transition to Hendrick is confirmed, Trackhouse Racing’s future with the No. 88 remains unclear.
