Survive, if you can, a zombie holocaust in this title available for PC
Yes, Resident Evil 2 is fantastic, it's not in vain our game of the year 2019, but don't you miss the vintage flavor of the classics? That extra tension that gave the orthopedic turn of the protagonists? The agony of not knowing if you were going to turn fast enough to point to that approaching undead? If your love for the classic encompasses not only the names, but also the mechanics of yesteryear, the recent release of the free Dead Country may be for you.
Developed by Blake McKinnon, the idea is clear: be inspired by the spirit of titles such as Alone in the Dark, Silent Hill or Resident Evil itself to offer us old-school terror, including the famous "tank type" controls that are so good (or bad) memories wake up in the tallest fans. Together with him we can find his best friends at the time: "very limited inventory" and "fixed cameras", so that the experience is as authentic as possible. If you add a presentation based on a few polygons for stages and characters, we complete a pack full of nostalgia.
The developer commentary for my PS1-style survival horror game, Dead County, is now up on my YouTube channel!

Love for the classics
Interestingly, the same author acknowledges that he was too small when this kind of games were at its peak, and that he has developed a love for them a posteriori, which is what motivated him to make this compelling title. A proof that everything comes back and that the value of the neoretro goes far beyond that of the vehicle to remember old glories; It is a way of keeping alive traditions, mechanics and ideas that just as they were fun in their time, they can continue to be today. The developer has other similar games, such as Blood Breed, available in the Switch eshop.
The game is available on itchi.o for PC and can be downloaded under voluntary payment here.
