Deadlock City Never Sleeps has just dropped, and the studio has supercharged the title with six fresh heroes, a complete map redesign, and a cascade of new objectives.
New Heroes Unveiled
Players will soon be able to command six new agents, as voting returns to the pre‑match lobby. The roster expands with Nurse Harrow, Rat King, Solomon, Deadman Danny, Baba, and Violet, each bringing a distinct playstyle.
Overhauled Map & Added Districts
The cityscape has been reimagined. Classic streets—Broadway, Uptown, Times Square, Downtown, Greenwich, Umbria University, Central Park, The Brownstones, Stock Exchange, Seaport Dock, and Old Fairfax Factories—now feature altered textures and new enemy spawns. Beneath the streets lie four hidden districts: The Theater, Chinatown, Haunted Lot, and Plaza, offering fresh navigation routes.
New Objectives & Cursed Item Shop
Two fresh objectives surface in the new districts. The Bell Tower sits atop Chinatown, providing a high‑risk reward zone that echoes across the map. Beneath Plaza lies the Sunken Plaza, where descent grants powerful buffs at the cost of stamina.
The Broker, a temporary shop, lets players trade high‑tier gear for corrupted versions. Corrupted items receive random negative effects; each match assigns the same set to all players. The shop lasts only until the first new hero spawns.
Neutrals, Gear, and UI Revamp
- New neutral squads include Specimen, Past Dues, Gutter Ghouls, Barrel Mimics, Stage Hands, Crabbage Pots, Festival Spirit, Shrooms, and Underhands.
- Randomized Tough Crates need a heavy melee to break, offering additional souls.
- Buff Containers now grant Spirit Resist, Bullet Resist, Ability Range, and Move Speed permanently.
- Healing Snacks supply immediate health when discovered.
- Steam Vents grant temporary invisibility and a small health regen.
UI gets a full overhaul: a new health bar displays player names, Rejuvinator and ultimate indicators, stamina tracking, and context‑specific damage numbers. The HUD now shows ally status, buff durations, and a streamlined event feed listing kills, bounties, and kills’ contributing items or abilities.
Controls & Technical Improvements
Keybinds expand, allowing mouse scroll wheel usage and mouse‑only “avoid hero” triggers. Generic features such as auto‑move and auto‑mantle reduce input friction, while parry cooldowns now appear near the reticle. Optimisations include updated Source 2 engine, anti‑cheat tightening, network prediction, rendering and audio performance boosts, and localisation updates.
Voice‑over scripts leap from 700 to 1,500 lines; players can browse them in a new dropdown. The bot suite now records and replays actions, providing a built‑in DPS meter and mobility tracker.
