DICE claims the next Battlefield will be out in 2021

The developer recently announced that the work done on the fifth installment will conclude with a major update in the summer.

Coinciding with the announcement that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will finalize its content plan when The Battle of Scarif is released, EA DICE has revealed that it will do the same with Battlefield 5, as confirmed in an official statement. In this sense, the studio has already set its sights on the future of the saga. According to a representative of the developer, the next title will be ready in 2021.

"The DICE team is working on a standalone update for Battlefield 5, which will be released in the summer and will continue to work on launching more Community Games," explains an EA representative in a statement picked up by VGC. Now that the studio vision with Star Wars Battlefront 2 is complete, thanks to this week's Battle of Scarif update, the servers, ingame challenges, recurring events, and game support will continue as long as the game lives on. from the players and from the community ”, he continues. "In the long term, the study is focused on the future of Battlefield, which we will bring to players in 2021."

Battlefield 6, in fiscal year 2022

In October 2019, during the presentation of the results of the fiscal year, EA's financial manager, Blake Jorgensen, assured that Battlefield 6 would be launched during fiscal year 2022, that is, in a period between April 2021 and March 2022, something that was reiterated last January.

Battlefield 5 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Since its launch, EA DICE has made content updates that have provided new episodes and game modes, such as its own battle royale. The production went on sale in 2018, so it will be two years on the market in late 2020. The new update will not be Episode 7, although all the details about it have not been offered yet. It will come out in June if the situation caused by the coronavirus allows it.
