Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot: what will Dragon Balls be for?

The latest issue of V-Jump magazine confirms the operation of the magic balls of the universe of Akira Toriyama in this CyberConnect2 title.

Dragon Balls will be present in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot and will have some prominence. The latest issue of the Japanese magazine V-Jump of Shueisha has advanced what will be the presence of an intrinsic element in the DNA of the series, the seven magic balls capable of fulfilling a wish for those who gather them.

Clashes never seen and enemies with sinister aura

According to the information, if we manage to collect the seven Dragon Balls – which will be scattered throughout the universe of the game, although it has not been detailed how or in what way – we can make a wish to face an enemy. The magazine does not explain that this is the only wish we can ask, but it will be at least one of them.

This mechanic will enable fighting that never took place in the series, a dream of What If …? Where some unpublished crosses in the Dragon Ball Z canon will take place in a unique way. In addition, if we manage to win those fights we will receive some so-called Soul Emblems (which we can translate as Soul Emblems), whose use is unknown for now. Also, these clashes will serve to improve our attack power and gain a multitude of experience points.

Enemies with “sinister soul” will appear without warning in the surroundings of the Earth. If we run into any of them, which are remarkably powerful, we can earn more rewards than usual if we achieve victory.

In this issue of the V-Jump a new promotional image of the game is revealed, where characters such as the Androids, various forms of Buu, King Cold, Spopovich and more appear. These captures will begin to be seen on social networks and forums in the coming hours.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will go on sale early next year 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC; in Japan it is confirmed that it will be released on January 16, 2020. In Europe and North America it will be on January 17, 2020.

To learn more about the game, we invite you to read our playable impressions after testing the title this August at Gamescom with this article. In this fair it was where we could chat with Ryosuke Hara, the producer of the game in Bandai Namco, who told us about his development process.
