Another patent from Sony is circulating, this time describing an interesting technology that may be used in the PS5 and PlayStation VR 2. This collects biological feedback from the players to adapt their experience.
Corresponding sensors are installed in the handles of the controller to measure electrodermal activities or the heart rate. Based on this data, the gaming experience could be made more intense or less intense. Exact applications are unfortunately not described in the patent.
Use in PlayStation VR 2?
The technology would probably not only refer to the PS5, it also seems to be taken into account for PlayStation VR, as the description below refers to a head-mounted display. It speaks at least of an “immersive and highly interactive experience for the players”.
However, the idea for this is also not that new and was mentioned similarly about a year ago. Back then, it was all about a VR headset in which the sensors in question measured blood flow etc. directly on the head.
A patent, however, makes it difficult to assess whether this technology will ever be used.
