As the E3 is known to be canceled this year, the organizer ESA goes on undeterred and announced the date for the event in 2021 today.
Accordingly, the E3 will take place in the coming year from June 15 to 17, 2021. At the same time, this once again emphasizes the plans to “reinvent the event” and to launch a new vision of it. Most recently, the E3 had to contend with dwindling exhibitors and participants who prefer to organize their own shows.
Summer of gaming event in June
Instead of a live event, ESA still wants to look at options on how, in some ways, the E3 can at least take place digitally. For this purpose, the Summer of Gaming Event was announced by IGN today, which will provide various highlights throughout June.
As partners, publishers such as Square Enix, Sega, Bandai Namco, Amazon, Google, Twitter, Devolver Digital and THQ Nordic could be won. So summer does not have to do without games and new announcements this year.
“With the launch of the next generation of consoles later this year and players who want to learn more about which games they can play on their new hardware, our online event will be a crucial moment for publishers and developers to interact with the audience to get in touch worldwide, ”said Peer Schneider, Chief Content and Product Officer at IGN.
It is not known which plans the ESA is still pursuing this year or whether it is to be completely suspended.
