E3 returns with "a reimagined event" in 2021 and confirms dates

As ESA searches for alternatives to this year's edition, suspended by the coronavirus, it also announces changes for next year's event.

After the bad news of the cancellation of E3 2020, ESA, the organizing association of the event, has already started to work on the 2021 edition, and has even even confirmed dates. It will be between June 15 and 17 of next year when the next edition of the Angelina fair is held, while looking for alternatives so that it can be organized in some way this year.

Not only that, but ESA itself has assured that for 2021 it is preparing "a reimagined event", in the face of some criticism received in recent years and some repeated absences, with Sony being the most prominent. It should be remembered that the Japanese company had already been absent in the 2019 edition and did not plan to attend this 2020 either.

However, as we said before, there are still options to carry out an event this year, surely digitally. "We are exploring options with our members to coordinate an online experience to show industry announcements and news in June 2020," they said from ESA. Even so, the organization has been weeks with this idea and to this day, no information has been updated in this regard.

There will be a portion of video games in June

What is evident is that the fact that E3 2020 is not going to take place in the usual way does not mean that we are not going to have a dizzying few days of information on video games in June. Some companies such as Microsoft or Ubisoft are already planning, in fact, alternative digital conferences, and it is worth remembering that in these two specific cases, the American company will launch this year no less than its new console, Xbox Series X. For its part, the gala editor has several games in the chamber for the coming months, some of them surely to appear in the next generation, such as Watch Dogs Legion, Skull & Bones or their new IP, Gods & Monsters.
