Enea Bastianini will power Aprilia’s satellite Trackhouse team in the 2027 MotoGP season, securing a two‑year contract after Tech3 KTM announced his exit at the close of the current season.
The announcement followed a coordinated cascade of statements on Monday: Tech3 KTM confirmed Bastianini’s departure, while Trackhouse immediately revealed that the 27‑year‑old had signed a deal to replace Ai Ogura, who will race for Yamaha’s factory squad alongside 2024 champion Jorge Martín.
Trackhouse’s 2027 roster is now complete, having added the already‑extended Raul Fernández early in the month. The team’s owner, Justin Marks, expressed excitement about integrating Bastianini’s racing pedigree into the new Aprilia RS‑GP as the sport shifts to the 850cc era.
“Starting from the test in Valencia, this is a real new challenge for me,” Bastianini said. “I’m ready to bring my experience and fighting spirit to help develop the new bike, tires and regulations, and to keep us competitive at the top.”
Bastianini began his premier‑class career with Avintini Ducati in 2021, earned a seat with Gresini, and stepped up to Ducati’s factory outfit before injuries in 2023 and 2024 prompted a move to Tech3 in 2025. In that span, he positioned himself as KTM’s second‑best rider, remaining a distant shadow of Pedro Acosta.
The Italian driver had reportedly finalised terms with Trackhouse over the summer, but contractual options and the team’s focus on Fernández’s future delayed the public disclosure. Tech3’s option on Bastianini ran until the end of June, complicating the timeline.
“We’re thrilled to welcome Enea to race our Aprilias,” Marks added. “His racing history, MotoGP wins and all‑round qualities fit perfectly with Trackhouse’s vision for greatness.”
With Fernández and Bastianini aboard, Aprilia aims to present a title‑contending line‑up that can challenge established powerhouses in the new 850cc framework, setting the stage for a highly competitive 2027 season.
