Esteban Ocon announced his recovery tactics after the Hungarian Grand Prix, a race that left the Haas driver 17th in the standings with just three points.
Season Performance
Ocon’s best finish this year came at the Monaco Grand Prix, where he secured ninth place. His other point resulted from a tenth place in Japan, setting his points tally at three after 17 rounds.
Summer Legacy
During the break, Ocon plans to unwind on a boat in the Mediterranean, favouring calm waters in Greece, Italy, or the south of France to recharge.
He stated that the simplicity of a quiet week at sea counterbalances the season’s intensity, offering “time for loved ones” and a mental reset before the return.
Winter Readiness and Roots
For the forthcoming winter, the Frenchman will keep home for holidays and base training at his performance centre, with a short weekend scheduled for New Year’s Eve.
Although residing in Switzerland, Ocon often returns to Normandy where his childhood friends live, describing visits as a grounding reflection on his origins.
The 2026 Formula 1 calendar resumes in the Netherlands from 21‑23 August at the Dutch Grand Prix.
