Formula 1 drivers will tumble into bespoke Lego minicars on the Silverstone parade lap, an event that follows the viral Miami GP stunt last year.
Miniature Marvels on Silverstone
Each of the 22 competitors receives a custom minicar constructed from precisely 28 000 Lego bricks, a detail that underscores the scale of the collaboration between the sport and the toy giant.

- Weight: 280 kg, 65 kg of which are bricks
- Wheels: standard go‑kart design
The parade will take place 90 minutes before the race start, at 1:30 pm BST.
Behind the Builds
Behind the assembly line, 20 specialists in design and engineering spent more than 6 400 hours in the Czech Republic plant to bring each model to life.
“Last year’s F1 drivers’ parade in Miami with the Lego big build cars was one of the most memorable and talked-about moments of the season, capturing the imagination of fans around the world and showing a different side of the sport,” said Emily Prazer, chief commercial officer at Formula 1.
An Unprecedented Spectacle
During the Miami event, the parade turned into an impromptu race as bricks flew across the track. For this year’s British Grand Prix, 22 Lego minicars add a new layer of excitement as drivers take turns inside and behind the wheel.
Julia Goldin, chief product and marketing officer of the Lego Group, added: “Fans and drivers alike asked – so now we are delivering. We wanted to go even bigger than last year and ensure we continue to surprise and delight our fans. We can’t wait to see what the drivers do when they get these minicars on track.”
