Fallout 76: Bethesda works to solve inventory vulnerabilities

A hack allows cheater players to steal the inventory of other survivors, so Bethesda has got to work.

The world of Fallout 76 lives again moments of confusion. If the problematic premiere of Fallout First had not been enough, now a hack has caused new problems for the players. Imagine walking with all your equipment, with the best armor and the most powerful weapons to find you, shortly after, in underpants in the wilderness. That is what has happened to some users of the video game, although Bethesda states that it has only affected a small number of them. In any case, it is already immersed in the search for a solution.

According to a post published in Reddit, the most cheater players have taken advantage of this hack to clean up their fellow survivors. Apparently, all inventory is vulnerable, so some users have recommended not going to public servers. Of course, if you want to enjoy the privilege of private servers you will have to be invited by a member of the Fallout First, since it is an exclusive functionality for them.

The solution, almost ready

At the moment, the US company has not been able to ensure that the stolen inventory can be recovered in the future. In any case, the creators of The Elder Scrolls have reported that they have got to work and that the solution to the problem is imminent, at least so that it is not repeated again.

"We are investigating reports on a PC exploit that has caused abuse by cheats," they explain in the Reddit post. “This has resulted in a few players having lost the items that their characters had equipped. We are actively working on a solution for this and we already have a patch that is currently under evaluation ”and will be launched in the next few hours.

"Although we have determined that only a small number of characters have been negatively affected, we take this very seriously and solving it is our number one priority." Bethesda has apologized and has requested that any player who suffers something like this immediately contact the company through customer service.

Fallout 76 is available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
