A recent X post from user ShiinaBR confirms that Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 will be identified by the codename “Runners.”
Cyberpunk Edgerunners could shape the new Battle Pass
The term “Runners” aligns closely with the Netflix series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, which shares a universe with the video‑game Cyberpunk 2077. With the show’s second season arriving soon, Epic Games may populate the upcoming Battle Pass with its protagonists, granting players access to the cyber‑enhanced world that the series depicts.
Speed‑focused collaborations may arrive alongside “Runners”
Another interpretation of the leak points to a speed‑centric theme, opening the door for characters known for rapid movement. The Boys franchise, long rumored to be in development for a Fortnite crossover, features the speed‑powered hero A‑Train; his inclusion would dovetail with a “Runners” concept. Additionally, the long‑awaited Fortnite‑Sonic partnership could materialize, presenting the blue hedgehog as a possible sidekick equipped for high‑velocity combat.
Broader implications for the Shattered live event
If “Runners” proves to be more than a seasonal label, the clue might integrate with the Shattered live event scheduled for June 5, 2026. Whether the focus lands on cybernetic racers, super‑powered speedsters, or an entirely different narrative, the revelation sets expectations for a season that blends fast‑paced gameplay with high‑profile collaborations.
