Fortnite’s Gem Sprites will launch on August 6, 2026 at 9 AM ET, marking the next chapter of Epic Games’ Sprite Day initiative.
Event Timing and Availability
The release is built into the upcoming Sprite Day event, during which the chance of encountering Gem Sprites in the map will temporarily increase. Players can also find them in Sprite Chests scattered throughout Chapter 7 Season 3.
What the Gem Sprites Offer
All Gem variants grant a 30 % reduction in fall damage, a bonus that stacks with standard Sprite Variant perks. For example, the Gem Demon Sprite keeps the health‑siphoning feature of its base form while also mitigating fall damage.
How Many to Aim For
Epic Games has announced a total of nine Gem Sprites for this season. The Llama variant debuted in update 41.30, while the remaining eight will appear alongside the Sprite Day launch.
Finding and Trading the Gems
Should locating the new Sprites prove difficult, players can trade with friends. Every Gem Sprite remains active after the initial event window, continuing to provide the fall‑damage mitigation benefit.
Why It Matters
Even with Air Sprites already mitigating, the 30 % fall‑damage buff becomes valuable during high‑altitude build battles where plummeting can leave players exposed.
