A GPT‑6 AI model launched a 141‑hour Minecraft game on Twitch following Mojang’s Wilderness Bound update, only to watch every milestone vanish when a Creeper blew up its chest and bed.
Vals, an independent AI evaluator, livestreamed the experiment, letting the model navigate the new terrain, build a semi‑automatic Blaze farm, secure six Blaze Rods, discover a Warped Forest, kill over six Endermen, and collect three Ender Pearls.
During the stream, the AI stored all gathered items in a chest, giving viewers a tangible sense of progress. Yet a sudden Creeper explosion destroyed that chest and the AI’s bed, erasing the hours of effort and leaving the agent to repeatedly farm potatoes while chastising itself: “ALWAYS CARRY CRITICALITEMS withkeepInventory; don’tstoreinunguardedchesteveragain.”
Viewers, displeased by the slowdown, pushed the AI to accelerate. The incident also made the model overly wary of any threatening block; at one point, it mistook a green stalk of sugarcane for a Creeper and corrected itself, “GREEN tall thing ahead was SUGARCANE, NOT creeper!”
Throughout the ordeal, Vals documented self‑critical prompts such as “screw up and drop things” and warnings against “waste another night chasing dark pink pixels,” referring to mischievous pigs in the game.
The meme quickly spread across social media, with users reacting to GPT‑6 Astra’s mishaps and joking that any seasoned Minecraft player has seen similar catastrophes.
