NASCAR Championship Weekend Returns to Homestead in 2027
Homestead-Miami Speedway will host the 2027 NASCAR Championship Weekend from November 12 to 14, a return that marks the venue’s 20th annual title-decider.
2027 Schedule and Renovation Highlights
The weekend begins with the Craftsman Truck Series finale on Friday, November 12, continues with the O Reilly Auto Parts Series title-decider on Saturday, November 13, and culminates with the Cup Series showdown on Sunday, November 14.
As part of a $20 million investment, the track has upgraded its main entrance, refreshed the Ally Champions Club, expanded the fan zone, and enhanced overall capacity and guest experience.
Historic Significance and Community Impact
Homestead served as the championship floor every year from 2002 through 2019 and hosted the 2026 finale before a five-year shift to Phoenix Raceway in 2020 to 2025. The 2027 return follows NASCAR’s intended rotation, though no new venue has been designated for 2028.
“The South Florida community is thrilled to once again host NASCAR championship weekend in 2026 and 2027,” said Guillermo Santa Cruz, Homestead-Miami Speedway President. “The excitement, drama, and energy surrounding the championship bring tremendous visibility, economic impact, and engagement to our community while showcasing what Homestead-Miami Speedway can offer as a premier destination for major events.”
In the Next‑Gen era, critics have highlighted the aero package, yet Homestead has consistently delivered competitive races; Kyle Larson sat atop the 2025 Homestead grid and Denny Hamlin currently leads active drivers with three Cup victories at the track. The last Cup champion crowned there was Kyle Busch in 2019.
