IndyCar’s milder weekend at the Milwaukee Mile was stalled when rain forced the 250‑lap Snap‑On Makers and Fixers 250 to stop at the 90‑lap mark.
Race halted by weather
After laps 1 to 90, officials pulled the red flag at 4:20 p.m. ET, as the track failed to dry adequately. IndyCar required the event to exceed the halfway point to count as official; the race would resume the next day at 9:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
Remind on Sunday, 250‑lap second race begins at 1 p.m.
Tracks efforts began around 6:30 p.m. ET but did not succeed, leaving the Saturday’s race in limbo. The second race of the doubleheader will take place on Sunday afternoon, also covering 250 laps, with visibility expected to improve by the scheduled start.
Standings before the red flag
When the race was halted, Pato O’Ward led the field, having won the first 20 laps before Felix Rosenqvist reclaimed the front during pit cycles. Oscar Selec variety mentions that the top five positions were Arrow McLaren’s O’Ward, Meyer Shank Racing’s Rosenqvist, ECR’s Alexander Rossi, Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden, and Arrow’s Christian Lundgaard.
