Arvid Lindblad’s first home Formula 1 weekend at Silverstone began with the 18‑year‑old admitting he will finally chase a driving licence after a week of relentless media duties.
Race‑day rhythm for a rookie
Lindblad entered the championship 11th after earning four points, including eighth place at the season opener in Australia. His best finishes arrived in Monaco and Britain, where he claimed seventh each time. The Silverstone event proved especially emotive, with the driver handling full‑panel media obligations, ranging from podcasts to broadcast interviews.
Both the microphone and the track
During a backstage break with the Capital FM team, Lindblad joked that the constant calls for his driving licence had become “annoying.” He noted the challenge of arranging transport to the airport for his mother and how the pressure pushed him toward a licence. Later, the driver reflected on his first proper radio appearance, describing the experience as “pretty cool” after being an avid listener.
After his media day, Lindblad teamed up with fellow Racing Bulls driver Jenson Lawson to film social‑media content before joining the rest of the British squad for the Fan Zone stage. The weekend also featured a LEGO car race, a look inside the garage during the race, and the team’s post‑race celebrations.
From press to podium in a day’s span
While the team predominantly focused on media, true racing action prevailed once the cars hit the track. The journey from the studio to the track, the subsequent on‑track downtime, and the camaraderie shown by the entire squad underscored the lightweight human side of a high‑intensity sport.
With the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort scheduled from 21 to 23 August, Lindblad’s narrative continues as he seeks to build further momentum before the next European sprint.
