Liam Lawson will step into the RB22 for the Dutch Grand Prix after Isack Hadjar pulls out with a wrist injury.
Red Bull confirms Lawson replacement for Dutch Grand Prix
Oracle Red Bull Racing announced Wednesday that the 24‑year‑old will queue up after the intern‑grade driver suffered a wrist injury during a gym session. The team confirmed the rider’s inability to race at Zandvoort, citing “the seriousness of his wrist injury.”
“We will be welcoming back Liam Lawson who will replace him in RB22 this weekend. We wish Isack a speedy recovery,” read the statement released to Motorsport.com.
Hadjar’s shock injury and its immediate impact
Hadjar sustained the wrist damage during the off‑season shutdown and will miss the track where his lone F1 podium came – a third place for Racing Bulls in 2025’s opening round.
Red Bull’s decision leaves a gap in the card, but gives Lawson a second chance to partner Max Verstappen, having shared the car for the first two races of 2025 before being dropped back to the sister squad.
Yuki Tsunoda to drive in Racing Bulls and Ludwig’s future
Reserve driver Yuki Tsunoda will take his place in Racing Bulls for the Dutch event, racing alongside Arvid Lindblad. The 26‑year‑old, after last year’s struggles with Verstappen, now balances commitments in the 2026 grid as a reserve while negotiating an IndyCar opportunity with Meyer Shank Racing for 2027.
