McLaren has secured Lando Norris for the next four seasons, extending his contract through the conclusion of the 2030 calendar.
Contract extension confirms Norris will stay with McLaren until 2030
The 26‑year‑old signed a new deal with the Woking outfit that will keep him in the McLaren colours until the end of the 2030 season. In a statement to Sky Sports, he emphasised loyalty, saying the team is his only home in Formula 1 and that he would be proud to spend his entire career there.
Longevity undecided, but the focus is on the present
Norris admitted that reaching the age of 40 in F1 is a significant challenge, and he has not yet decided whether he will race into his 30s or 40s. “I don’t know what the future holds,” he told the network, noting that his primary concern at the moment is fighting for more wins and championships as part of the McLaren programme.
Career prospects tied to performance and ambition
He remains optimistic that McLaren can win additional Constructors’ and Drivers’ titles, stating that staying in the team would enable the pursuit of those goals. The driver reaffirmed that regardless of how long he stays, he views the extended commitment as an important milestone for his career.
Norris’ current season performance
Having secured consecutive victories at the Hungarian and Dutch Grand Prix, Norris sits fourth in the Drivers’ Championship with 159 points. These wins underline his capacity to contest for podiums and titles while part of the McLaren squad.
Future direction left open, present ambition fixed
While he has not committed to racing into his 40s, the 2025 champion’s four‑year contract places him firmly in McLaren’s future plans and ensures he will fight for victories and championship points through the 2027, 2028, 2029 and 2030 seasons.
