Charles Leclerc secured his first Formula 1 victory of the season at the British Grand Prix, crossing the line under safety‑car conditions ahead of George Russell and Lewis Hamilton.
Silverstone’s split‑second advantage
Leclerc took the start in front of the field and maintained the lead until a safety car was deployed after Max Verstappen spun into the gravel at Stowe corner.
The Monegasque finished the set‑up, with Russell in second place and Hamilton close behind in third.
Data‑driven turnaround, says Montoya
Seven‑time world champion Juan Pablo Montoya praised the Ferrari team’s post‑race data work, noting that “figuring out what’s wrong—whether it’s the diffuser opening or high‑frequency migration—helps the car start to feel consistent at every circuit.”
Montoya added that if Leclerc matches the consistency of Lewis Hamilton, “the championship will become really exciting.”
Standings snapshot
After the win, Leclerc moves into fourth in the drivers’ standings with 108 points, behind Kimi Antonelli (179), George Russell (154) and Lewis Hamilton (147).
