Marco Bezzecchi secured pole for the Italian MotoGP, posting a blistering 1 minute 43.921 seconds lap that placed him at the summit of the Mugello grid.
Aprilia’s qualifying sweep
The Noale factory team locked out the top three spots, with Trackhouse rider Raúl Fernández trailing by just 0.224 seconds and Jorge Martín completing the podium. Their dominance left only the struggling Ai Ogura, who failed to progress from Q1 and will start the race from 13th place.
Bezzecchi’s record time, set with five minutes remaining, was comfortably ahead of the nearest challenger; no competitor breached the 0.224‑second margin, underscoring the magnitude of his performance.
Ducati line‑up and other front‑runners
Returning from injury, Marc Marquez qualified fourth on his Ducati, spearheading an all‑Ducati second row that also featured Gresini’s Fermín Aldeguer and factory rider Francesco Bagnaia. Bagnaia, after a promising practice, was unable to improve and finished sixth, while his teammate Fabio Di Giannantonio took seventh after switching to a second bike following a VR46 Ducati failure.
Honda’s Diogo Moreira impressed with an eighth‑place start, the best qualifying result of his young career, slotting between Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli.
Final grid highlights
- Pedro Acosta (KTM) qualified tenth, joining Fernández in Q2 after a competitive battle in Q1.
- Enea Bastianini (KTM) and Alex Rins (Yamaha) rounded out the fourth row.
- Red Bull KTM’s Bastianini and Yamaha’s Rins completed the front‑four rows, each within a second of the pole time.
With Aprilia’s trio occupying the top three and Ducati poised to challenge from the second row, the forthcoming race promises a tightly contested showdown at Mugello.
