Marc Marquez falls to sixth in Mandalika
Marc Marquez finished the Indonesian Grand Prix in sixth place, 10.7 seconds behind Marco Bezzecchi. He left the weekend with 22 points, level with championship leader Jorge Martin.
The factory Ducati rider led the field by 6.1 seconds over his brother Alex Marquez, who rides for Gresini.
Aprilia claims historic front‑row
For the first time, Aprilia secured the top four positions at a Grand Prix. Jorge Martin matched Marc’s 22‑point haul, highlighting Aprilia’s rising threat.
The four‑strong squad appears especially potent at circuits that traditionally favour Ducati, such as Phillip Island, Qatar and Portimao.
Tyre woes, title strategy and potential orders
Alex Marquez cited the rear tyre construction as the main factor behind Ducati’s recent performance decline, noting that the reinforced casing performed poorly on soft and medium compounds.
He added that the textile will be phased out next season as the team switches tyre suppliers, and that Ducati may need to issue team orders to safeguard Marc’s title ambitions.
