Valheim’s best‑selling tactic hinges on taming beasts, granting armies and resources with minimal effort.
Taming Essentials for Every Player
Not all creatures surrender to your hand; only specific species reveal themselves to the friend’s hunger. Before you begin, craft simple shelters and ready berries, meat, or grain to feed your target.
If a beast’s spawn point is unclear, the console command debug_summon can materialize it at your chosen coordinates, easing the search.
Boars: Your First Steady Supplier
Stand before a boar, any direction it faces will chase you. Let it tempers itself and lunge into a fenced enclosure you’ve built.
Leave the enclosure, then stockpile berries until the green healing bar nestles above it. Keep distance to avoid a yellow fright icon, and the boar will quiet itself. Name and pet the animal, and it will render its hay and meat ubiquitously.
Wolves: Mastery Demands Gear and Persistence
Navigate to the high mountains with insulated attire and a robust wooden or stone keep. Engage a wolf, lure it into the enclosure, and cascade chunks of meat over the ground.
Close the gate and step back; the wolf will never let the cell breach. Return every few minutes to replenish food and patch any cracks. Over time the wolf’s loyalty rises, allowing it to join your ranks and decimate foes.
Lox: The Plains’ Mounteous Mounts
Find a Lox on open plains and construct a deep pit. Offer cloud berries, flax or barley to entice it inside.
Steady feeding while keeping a safe perimeter triggers taming. After the lox’s green bar blooms, dredge the pit to bring the beast out; it will stand ready for saddle and ride.
Askvins: The Mistlands’ Stealthy Egg Collectors
Around a coastal cliff, dig a vast pit and lay a short platform above. Use smoke puffs, vineberry clusters, or fiddleheads to lure several Askvins inside.
Remain outside, feeding as needed. Once the taming bar activates, the creatures stay content. Harvest their eggs, hatch them elsewhere, and rebuild your misty army.
