DiBenedetto Returns to O’Reilly Series in Las Vegas
Matt DiBenedetto will rev up the No. 42 Chevrolet for Young’s Motorsports at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on October 3, with Magnesium Performance Wheels as the title sponsor. The announcement came after Catchfence.com’s Chris Knight broke the story and DiBenedetto voiced his enthusiasm for the opportunity.
Career Highlights and Recent Form
Across NASCAR’s top three levels, DiBenedetto has logged 248 Cup races, 127 O’Reilly starts, and 43 Truck attempts. His most recent national‑level appearance was in 2025, when the driver was released from Viking Motorsports before season’s end. He also tried to qualify for the Cup event at Darlington earlier this year with Joey Gase Motorsports, but missed the field. In 2022, DiBenedetto captured a Truck victory at Talladega and finished fifth in the O’Reilly Series, the best that year for him. At the Cup level, he recorded three second places, including two podiums at Las Vegas in 2020, but never won a race. His last O’Reilly outing at the 1.5‑mile intermediate track left him 19th.
Young’s 42 Car Lineup and Past Results
During the 2026 season the No. 42 truck has seen a rotating roster: Carson Hocevar, J.J. Yeley, Nick Leitz, Nathan Byrd, Brad Perez, David Starr, Logan Bearden, Will Rodgers, C.J. McLaughlin, Baltazar Leguizamon, Garrett Smithley, and Natalie Decker. Of them, Byrd produced the best finish, a 16th place at Rockingham. The upcoming race may provide a chance to break that pattern.
