Activision has confirmed that 2XP tokens earned in Call of Duty Black Op 7 and Warzone will carry forward into Modern Warfare 4, granting players a ready‑made head start on the new title.

Tokens Transferred to Modern Warfare 4
The announcement surprised the community, which had originally expected the 2XP tokens to remain locked. The carry‑forward feature is active from the first day of multiplayer, allowing players to unlock weapons, blueprints, and Battle Pass tiers more quickly.
Historical Context and Early Access
Call of Duty has previously exhibited inconsistency with 2XP token transfers: tokens passed from Black Op 6 to 7, yet did not cross from Vanguard to Modern Warfare 2 due to engine differences. Because of this history, players were uncertain until Activision’s confirmation.
Tokens will not be available during the Early Access Beta phase, which launches on August 21. Tokens must be obtained after the official release on October 23, 2026.
Future Boosts and Platform Limits
Activision also announced a Monster × CoD collaboration that will distribute free 2XP codes, easing the grind during the October release.
COD Points will continue to transfer normally, but remain platform exclusive. Consequently, PC players cannot shift points to Xbox or any other platform.
By allowing 2XP tokens to migrate into Modern Warfare 4, Activision maintains continuity for a broad player base and speeds progression in the upcoming campaign.
