An old tandem
The film features Paul W.S. Anderson as director, who is again accompanied by Milla Jovovich, an actress who brings the main character of the film to life. Both have worked in another saga of movies based on video games, nothing more and nothing less than Resident Evil, which has received multiple sequels and that even influenced the games themselves. Anderson has also directed the movie Mortal Kombat, while in the case of Dead or Alive he played a producer.
According to Anderson, “there is a more exuberant part of the movie that reflects the more jungle aspect of Monster Hunter World. The climax of the film takes place in a part of an ancient civilization. ” He has not said exactly which one, but he does point out that several games in the series refer to direct to it.
Artemis is the character played by Jovovich, the head of an elite squad that everyone knows as Alpha. They are responsible for fighting monsters within a parallel universe. Tony Jaa, on the other hand, embodies a hunter of an alternative reality, well versed in that of fighting the creatures that dwell in the world.
After the success of sagas like Resident Evil or the most recent Pokémon: Detective Pikachu or Sonic The Movie, the future of videogame-based movies seems assured.
