The Opening Surge
Fernandez grabbed the holeshot at the start, leaping ahead of second‑placed Jorge Martin after the pole sitter suffered a stuck rear ride‑height device. The Spaniard also opened the gate at Turn 1, pushing Ai Ogura back and allowing Marco Bezzecchi to slot in second behind the race leader.
Extending the Lead
By the end of lap one, Fernandez had carved a one‑second edge. His tempo continued to outpace the field, carving a three‑second cushion in the first quarter. Davide Di Giannantonio captured sixth by over‑taking Marc Marquez on the final lap, when tyre graining slowed the Spanish star. Pedro Acosta claimed fourth, while Kotth correctly finished sixth on the bike lineup.
Survivors and Retirements
Only 16 of 23 riders reached the line, with Ai Ogura crashing at lap nine, Francesco Bagnaia dropping out and Cal Crutchlow retiring. A rough weekend left the standings tightened: Ogura fell behind Bezzecchi, and the title chase revved up around Fernandez’s command performance.
