MotoGP confirms no new city circuits on its radar beyond Adelaide.

In 2027, the Australian Grand Prix will move from Phillip Island to a temporary track slicing through Adelaide’s city centre and Victoria Park, the very venue once home to Formula 1 between 1985 and 1995.
The next‑generation 850cc machines will navigate a labyrinth of urban streets, a move that sparked safety concerns among fans. MotoGP, however, has repeatedly emphasized that the Adelaide experiment is not part of a broader strategy to turn every round into a street race.
Seg sporting director Carlos Ezpeleta told select media at Brno that an urban venue “is a rare fit” for Adelaide’s geography, whereas a permanent circuit is already planned in Buenos Aires to serve a 14‑million‑person metropolis.
Ezpeleta added that discussions about replicating the Adelaide concept in other cities are “not happening at the moment.” He highlighted that the “world has to see what that looks like” and that the Adelaide circuit is a one‑off opportunity for MotoGP to showcase the feasibility of such events.
Future street circuit prospects
Liberty Media, a new owner of MotoGP, is evaluating the Miami Autodrome as a long‑term venue. However, the coalition clarifies that Miami’s temporary circuit, built around the Hard Rock Stadium, differs significantly from a true street layout; Ezpeleta described the two as “very different.”
While the series’ expansion strategy includes a permanent track in Argentina’s capital, the focus remains on Adelaide’s unique urban race.
