Brno will host the first closed‑door Pirelli MotoGP tyre test, aimed at gathering data for the new 850cc prototypes scheduled for 2027.
Riders on the track
Each of the five manufacturers sends two riders: Ducati fields Marc Marquez and Fermin Aldeguer; KTM pilots Pedro Acosta and Dani Pedrosa; Honda sends Joan Mir and Luca Marini; Yamaha includes Toprak Razgatlioglu plus test rider Augusto Fernandez; Aprilia brings Marco Bezzecchi, with Raul Fernandez sitting out after a bout of appendicitis.
15‑compound tyre kit
Front options cover seven variants: three soft, two medium, one rain, and one intermediate tyre. Rear choices total eight: one soft, two medium, two hard, two rain, and one intermediate, offering a comprehensive range for performance evaluation.
Test timetable and restrictions
The session opens at 9:00 am and continues until 1:00 pm, with a lunch break, then resumes from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Media access and timing data remain withheld until Michelin’s sole‑supplier agreement expires on 31 November.
Future trials
Private teams will experience the next tyre test on Monday after the Austrian Grand Prix, scheduled for 21 September. The full preseason test with 850cc bikes will follow on 1 December in Valencia.
The test results will fine‑tune the 2027 tyre strategy as MotoGP shifts to the upcoming 850cc power‑train era.
