Red Bull Demotion Still Sharpens Lawson’s Edge
After Lawson was elevated to Red Bull to partner Max Verstappen for 2025, the opening two rounds proved unpromising. The team opted to return him to its sister outfit, Racing Bulls, where he has immediately rebounded.
Schiff noted that Racing Bulls frequently finishes in the points, regularly ranking in the top ten. “They are the best of the rest at the moment, and he seems to thrive,” she said during the Up To Speed podcast following the Barcelona‑Catalunya GP, where Lawson earned four points with an eighth‑place finish.

Lawson, positioned 10th in the drivers’ championship, has accumulated 28 points across 2026. His teammate, Arvid Lindblad, sits 13th with 13 points. Together, RB sits sixth in the constructors’ standings with 41 points.
The team has faced occasional challenges from Audi and the Alpines, but Racing Bulls maintain a consistent points place, allowing drivers to “do their thing in the car.”
