Szafnauer, who guided the outfit from Force India to Racing Point before departing in early 2022, criticised the rush for instant success under owner Lawrence Stroll. “Wanting victory too early breeds personnel churn,” he said, noting that the Fast‑Track lifestyle of the team, including massive investments in a new campus, wind tunnel and a Honda power unit deal, has not yet borne fruit.

The team sits 10th in the constructors’ championship with a single point, the sole tally coming from two‑time champion Fernando Alonso at the Monaco Grand Prix when several rivals received penalties. Only Cadillac F1 and Williams trail Aston Martin, with Williams ahead by 10 points.
