Preparing the 9X8 for the next three‑year cycle
Olivier Jansonnie, Stellantis Motorsport director, said the company will focus on the 9X8’s development to keep it battle‑ready. He added that commercial strategy, suppliers and corporate plans still demand scrutiny before extending the programme.
Team principal Emmanuel Esnault echoed that while convergence between LMH and LMDh “makes sense from a regulatory standpoint”, the final balance between the two platforms remains undecided.
The new regulations propose a single technical base, potentially cutting costs and simplifying development. But Peugeot is only one of the few manufacturers building a car from scratch; this complexity is a factor they must consider.
