Pocono Raceway has announced a new Walk of Fame honor for the late NASCAR champion Kyle Busch, following his unexpected death on May 21 after a severe pneumonia case progressed to sepsis.
A Walk of Fame Tribute
The track’s Walk of Fame now includes a stone bearing Busch’s name and No. 8 beside Jimmie Johnson’s 7‑cup‑champion plaque. Alongside the tribute, the gate signs celebrate Busch’s eight victories at the venue.
Run‑Away Signage and Memorial Graphics
Special graphics feature the word “ROWDY” with two No. 8s on a sign above the garage entrance. The same design has been replicated on the front‑stretch start/finish line at Pocono.
Last Truck Series Win & Legacy
Busch’s final Truck Series win, the team’s 100th and last at Pocono in 2023, saw him cross the line as the paper‑dressed flag set before the team’s sale to Spire Motorsports.
Family Tribute at Charlotte
Eight‑year‑old Brexton Busch returned to racing for the Legends Car Summer Shootout at Charlotte Motor Speedway, and he served as honorary starter as his grandfather Tom drove Kyle’s No. 51 Legends car in a tribute lap.
