Ubisoft has moved the launch of its Rayman Legends Retold remake back to December 3, 2026, shifting the originally planned October 1 release by two months.
The decision comes after the title had already entered the gold phase. In a statement posted on X, the Rayman developers explained: “While the game has officially gone gold, we have decided to take extra time to make sure every detail gets the care it deserves.”
Fans won’t be left empty‑handed for long, as Ubisoft confirmed a Game Overview trailer on September 22. On that same day, key creators and members of the press will supply fresh hands‑on impressions of the remake on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Switch 2.
Although the new deadline places Rayman Legends Retold just two weeks after Rockstar’s highly anticipated GTA 6, the two franchises cater to different player bases, reducing the risk of direct competition. Ubisoft’s timing also sidesteps other spring‑time blockbusters such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Phantom Blade Zero, which could dilute the spotlight.
Rayman Legends Retold first appeared on the market in 2013 and was recently revived during Ubisoft’s June 2026 State of Play showcase. The remake promises a visual overhaul, an entirely new storyline with fully voiced cutscenes, the return of Kung Foot equipped with tweaked controls, and the classic co‑op experience familiar to long‑time fans.
With this project, Ubisoft has already released a second remake this year—Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, dropped in July—cementing its focus on reviving beloved IPs.
