Remedy works in Control DLCs, the CrossFire X campaign and two projects to discover.
Remedy Entertainment is going well. The company has announced in its financial report that it has grown 57% in revenue, something derived from the great reception Control had by both critics and the public. From July to December, revenue growth was 63%, earning 17.9 million euros. In your report remember that Control has been chosen Game of the Year in more than 20 major international media, in addition to more than 40 additional prizes in other categories. The interesting thing is what its CEO, Tero Virtala, tells about the plans they have in hand with a team that has grown to 250 workers.
"In 2019 we finished and launched Control, the first of the four games we have been developing as part of our long-term growth plan," he explains. The other three are a project already known and two that are about to be discovered. The first is the creation of the CrossFire X campaign, a game that will arrive on Xbox One during this year and that was one of the claims of the past E3. A collaboration with Smilegate, owners and publishers of the game.
Vanguard, a new multiplayer service game
The third project has not yet been announced, but the development is going well, as indicated by the CEO himself. "The team is working on a fourth project, Vanguard, which has reached the stage of being playable internally as a developer version," says Virtala, adding: "Vanguard's goal is to create a game that combines a multiplayer service game in the long term with some of the unique features of Remedy games. "
In the financial report for investors, Remedy explains that both projects are in pre-production. Also they continue to develop and use their own engine, Northlight, through which three of the games are being developed. The only one who is not like that is Vanguard. Finally, Remedy also confirms that they have a team "working on two payment expansions to leave in 2020" for Control, a game that they describe, has been selling better over time thanks to the fact that many players have discovered it through the awards and the positive mouth-ear that has surrounded the title.
