Richmond Raceway has declared a personal tribute to Denny Hamlin, earmarking seats at the track for his family.
In a social‑media post, the Cup Series star stood beside his parents behind the Commonwealth, Sec H, Row 11, Seats 10‑11—seats that will now belong to the Hamlin name.
“Mom and Dad spent years at these seats,” Hamlin wrote. “Commonwealth, Sec H, Row 11, Seats 10‑11.”
The gesture follows the loss of his father, Dennis, who died in a house fire in North Carolina in December 2025. Hamlin said the move was “awesome” and “very appreciated.” He added that his mother still holds season tickets for those seats.
Track president Lori Collier Waran oversaw the dedication. The family also boasts a strong history at the venue: Hamlin’s five Richmond victories—including the 2024 win—cement his place in the track’s lore.
Before Saturday’s Cup Series race, Hamlin entered the field as champion‑challenger leader, with only three events remaining before the Chase.
A Seat Reservation That Honors Family Memory
Richmond Raceway’s decision to reserve the specific stands for the Hamlin family builds a permanent memorial during each race weekend.
By allocating the Commonwealth block, the venue acknowledges the father‑son bond that has tied Denny Hamlin to the track since childhood in Virginia.
Hamlin’s Legacy at Richmond
Hamlin’s career at Richmond includes five race wins, with the latest victory arriving in 2024. His 2025 season saw him leading the Cup Series standings heading into the final two rounds.
In addition, the driver’s regular presence on the track has made him a fan favorite among local supporters.
Track Management Recognizes Athlete‑Fan Connections
Track President Collier Waran expressed gratitude for the partnership with the Hamlin family. The move should foster a stronger sense of community among returning season ticket holders.
Frankly, the dedication is a straightforward rally point for fans who track the Cup Series and remember Richmond’s storied past.
