Following Dixon’s exit, defending Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist joined the open‑market pool, while Meyer Shank Racing secured a multi‑year extension with Marcus Armstrong, who will shift from the #66 Honda to the #60 chassis currently used by Rosenqvist once the 2027 season begins.
Only about fourteen or fifteen positions remain confirmed, a number that VeeKay acknowledges is “craziest silly season” in recent memory, according to the Juncos Hollinger Racing’s 25‑year‑old Dutch driver.
VeeKay balances results with strategic calm
In his seventh IndyCar campaign, VeeKay has secured three top‑10 finishes, highlighted by a fourth‑place finish at World Wide Technology Raceway, while piloting the #76 Juncos Hollinger Racing Chevrolet.
When asked whether the rapid roster changes are pressuring him to seal a contract quicker, VeeKay replied, “We saw dominos falling this week. Two fell yesterday and today. We’ll see.” He emphasised that the summer shuffle is a regular mid‑season business cycle and that the situation “moves things” but does not alter his planned approach.
He added, “We’ve been working toward the best decision for next year and the future. With dominos falling, we look at things a little differently, but we have a pretty good idea of what we want to do.”
