Kyle Busch’s family took part in the Coca‑Cola 600 ceremony on May 24, appearing publicly just three days after the driver’s sudden death.
Family’s public thank‑you
Samantha Busch, who shared nearly 16 years of marriage with the champion, posted a heartfelt message thanking fans, friends and strangers for prayers, meals, flowers and hugs that helped the family endure the loss.
She highlighted the “God‑filled presence” surrounding them and expressed gratitude for the countless acts of generosity that honored Kyle’s impact on the sport.
Racing community rallies
Earlier in the week, Busch’s son Brexton, 11, drove a Legends car around Charlotte Motor Speedway, a tribute that underscored the family’s connection to the track.
Richard Childress Racing responded by withdrawing the No. 8 entry, moving it to the No. 33 and placing Austin Hill behind the wheel for the upcoming event.
Busch’s record and final triumph
At the time of his death, Kyle Busch held the record for most NASCAR Cup victories (63), alongside 102 wins in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series and 69 in the Truck Series.
His 234th and final win came at the Dover NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race only days before his passing, cementing a storied career that spanned more than a decade.
“Thank you for loving our family so well. Thank you for loving Kyle. Thank you for honoring him,” Samantha wrote, noting that even in “the most heartbreaking days,” the outpouring of support reminded them they were not alone.
