SEGA has opened registrations for a closed‑network test of Crazy Taxi: World Tour, inviting players to roll out in a Pacific‑coast playground before its 2027 launch.
Test Details and Timeline
The test will run from September 11 to September 13, requiring a stable build that may contain bugs, glitches or connection hiccups. It is designed to evaluate matchmaking stability, cross‑platform integration and server load across the targeted regions.
Multiplayer Modes and Features
Participants can experience two teams:
- Pickup Race – a six‑player sprint that rewards passengers collected before time runs out.
- Cops ‘N’ Cabbies – a split‑team confrontation prioritising tactical coordination.
Both modes support ranked play, custom matchmaking, private lobbies and rule‑setting, as well as two playable maps, six vehicles and four characters with tuning options.
Registration Requirements
Players must have a SEGA account and be 13 or older. Accepted platforms include PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC and Steam. The test is limited to North America, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, parts of Europe, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India and Oceania. Applications remain open until August 31.
As SEGA notes, the closed test is a pre‑launch stability check, meaning any bugs or performance issues are to be expected. Those who secure a spot will drive a preview of Crazy Taxi’s modern multiplayer ecosystem long before the full release.
