Star Wars: Skywalker's Rise turns Darth Revan of Kotor into a canon

The former Jedi fell on the dark side of the force and was one of the most ruthless Sith leaders in the galaxy.

Long ago, in a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a title developed by BioWare and set thousands of years before the events narrated in the movies. Darth Revan, Sith Lord of absolute power, is the enemy facing the galaxy of those times. So far, it was not Disney canon, but Star Wars Episode IX: The Ascent of Skywalker has elevated it to official status. Not surprisingly, Lucasfilm has already expressed interest in exploiting this historical period.

If you have not seen the last movie of the galactic saga it is better that you stop reading at this moment, at least if you have not enjoyed any trailer and you do not know what the villain of the tape is. That said, in The Ascent of Skywalker, Emperor Palpatine has a huge fleet and loyal troops. 5000 of those men, who make up a legion, have been named after the ancient Lord Sith, Darth Revan. It is The Third Legion of Revan.

This has been credited in Visual Dictionary of Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker, as IGN collects. In this way, Darth Revan becomes part of the official Disney canon, which is different from the previous Lucasfilm. This is because the new trilogy rewrote the entire future of Star Wars. According to the Visual Dictionary, "only the Sith Eternal cultists know the meaning" of the names of the ancient Sith Lords.

More Sith confirmed

Revan is not the only name mentioned in the book, as it has also been confirmed that Lord Sith Andeddu, Tanis, Tenebrous, Phobos and Desolous have also enjoyed the honor of being the hosts of other imperial legions. In fact, Darth Phobos and Desolous appear in Star Wars: The Power of the Force, one of the last video games developed by the late LucasArts.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the most recent official video game. The production, in the hands of Respawn Entertainment, is a third-person adventure set years after the purge, when a Jedi apprentice tries to restore the power of the battered Jedi Order. Everything seems to indicate that the American studio is already working on the sequel to the video game.
